Vafios
Vafios is a little village about 5kms from Molyvos. It is quite a bit higher than Molyvos and the view over the sea at sunset is worth the drive in itself.
Taverna Vafios - €€
The owner of Taverna Vafios has worked very hard recently to make this restaurant a bit different. The decor is good and the tableware is of a high quality.
The food is very good with some interesting mezes, including stuffed onions
with a hint of cumin and stuffed courgette flowers when in season. Main dishes
are the usual grilled meats, plus good things from the oven such as lamb gastras
and rooster cooked with pasta.

Ilias - €€
Ilias is the first taverna you come to on the road up from Molyvos. They have a really pretty terrace where you can sit in the shade of an old oak tree and enjoy the views over the sea and of Molyvos some 500 metres below you.
The food here is very good, with dishes such as rabbit stifado being offered in season and many other good things from the oven and grill. They do a nice platter of mixed meze for 2 people.
