To Paradosiako - €€
To Paradosiako is a lovely little restaurant. It serves some really lovely traditional style food like Grandmother's Potatoes and Salt Cod Fritters with Skordalia. This restaurant is open all year round, with a pretty room for the winter and a nice little terrace for the summer. You can find To Paradosiako on the road into Petra opposite the Petri turning off the main Kalloni road.
Avlaki - €€
Just off the road to Anaxos is a really lovely little taverna called Avlaki. It sits in the shade of fig trees and overlooks a nice little beach. All the food seems really good here and I can particularly recommend the pork in wine sauce.
To Elinikon - €€
To Elinikon is in the main square of Petra and does a good range of dishes, both local and international. The Caesar salad is good, as are the gyros, which can be served in the traditional Greek pita, or as a larger version in a Middle Eastern flat bread.
Tsalikis - €€
This place is on the outskirts of Petra, on the road to Molyvos. It is a real treat for anyone with a sweet tooth and after a visit here you'll understand why Greece has more dentists per capita than any other EU country! There is a beautiful display of pastries and cakes and sweets, which can be eaten on the terrace or they will package them beautifully for you to take away. The ice cream is also particularly good here.
Tsalikis have now opened a new place in the main square (plateia) of Petra, in addition to the existing site.
